* treewide: add meta.mainProgram to packages with a single binary•••The nixpkgs-unstable channel's programs.sqlite was used to identify packages producing exactly one binary, and these automatically added to their package definitions wherever possible. stuebinm2024-03-191-0/+1
* scrypt: 1.3.1 -> 1.3.2R. Ryantm2023-10-201-2/+2
* treewide: switch to nativeCheckInputs•••checkInputs used to be added to nativeBuildInputs. Now we have nativeCheckInputs to do that instead. Doing this treewide change allows to keep hashes identical to before the introduction of nativeCheckInputs. Guillaume Girol2023-01-211-1/+1
* scrypt: fix build on aarch64-darwin•••util-linux alternative for darwin does not contain `rev` anyway and somehow the tests pass even when it is missing Pavol Rusnak2021-12-041-2/+8
* treewide: with stdenv.lib; in meta -> with lib;•••Part of: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/108938 meta = with stdenv.lib; is a widely used pattern. We want to slowly remove the `stdenv.lib` indirection and encourage people to use `lib` directly. Thus let’s start with the meta field. This used a rewriting script to mostly automatically replace all occurances of this pattern, and add the `lib` argument to the package header if it doesn’t exist yet. The script in its current form is available at https://cs.tvl.fyi/depot@2f807d7f141068d2d60676a89213eaa5353ca6e0/-/blob/users/Profpatsch/nixpkgs-rewriter/default.nix Profpatsch2021-01-111-2/+2

* scrypt: fix build of pkgsStatic.scrypt•••The getconf input defaults to the glibc one if it is being used and uses the netbsd version in all other cases. This fixes the build when building with musl, since it doesn't ship a version of getconf. sternenseemann2020-09-181-1/+3
* scrypt: 1.3.0 → 1.3.1, build library, enable tests•••* update scrypt * enable running of tests * build development library libscrypt-kdf, install to lib output, headers to dev * default output remains untouched: contains binary plus man pages sternenseemann2020-09-151-4/+14

* Fix many package descriptions•••(My OCD kicked in today...) Remove repeated package names, capitalize first word, remove trailing periods and move overlong descriptions to longDescription. I also simplified some descriptions as well, when they were particularly long or technical, often based on Arch Linux' package descriptions. I've tried to stay away from generated expressions (and I think I succeeded). Some specifics worth mentioning: * cron, has "Vixie Cron" in its description. The "Vixie" part is not mentioned anywhere else. I kept it in a parenthesis at the end of the description. * ctags description started with "Exuberant Ctags ...", and the "exuberant" part is not mentioned elsewhere. Kept it in a parenthesis at the end of description. * nix has the description "The Nix Deployment System". Since that doesn't really say much what it is/does (especially after removing the package name!), I changed that to "Powerful package manager that makes package management reliable and reproducible" (borrowed from nixos.org). * Tons of "GNU Foo, Foo is a [the important bits]" descriptions is changed to just [the important bits]. If the package name doesn't contain GNU I don't think it's needed to say it in the description either. Bjørn Forsman2014-08-241-1/+1
